Senior executive job market grows

Unadvertised senior executive vacancies in the £200k plus category increased by over 30% year-on-year to July, according to figures released by specialist recruitment agency InterExec.

Some sectors have seen even greater increases – vacancies in financial services have increased 83%, for example.

The telecommunications, media and technology sector has seen vacancies rise 66%.

The market for senior executives below that level has, however, fallen back by a couple of percentage points.

InterExec, which describes itself as a “confidential agent for international executives earning £150k to £1m+”, said in a statement “the overall picture clearly reflects a degree of confidence and optimism in continued growth and a buoyant market”.

It also said salary brackets had, over the last quarter, been steadily increasing with salaries up to £500k up 10% on the year. Over that level, the increase was 25%.

InterExec managing director Kit Scott-Brown said senior executive candidates “have rarely had such a positive market to search in”.

“Unearthing the exceptional unadvertised roles is crucial for candidates to identity those outstanding opportunities … the fourth quarter of 2014 seems to be the ideal time to step back on the ladder and start climbing.” - See more at:
